           “Whathavetheybeenploughing?”askedLevin.

           “Ploughingupthepotatoes.Werentabitoflandtoo.Fedot,don’tletoutthegelding,buttakeittothetrough,andwe’llputtheotherinharness.”

           “Oh,father,theploughsharesIordered,hashebroughtthemalong?”askedthebig,healthy-lookingfellow,obviouslytheoldman’sson.

           “There...intheouterroom,”answeredtheoldman,bundlingtogethertheharnesshehadtakenoff,andflingingitontheground.“Youcanputthemon,whiletheyhavedinner.”

           Thegood-lookingyoungwomancameintotheouterroomwiththefullpailsdraggingathershoulders.
