           SviazhskytookLevin’sarm,andwentwithhimtohisownfriends.

           ThistimetherewasnoavoidingVronsky.HewasstandingwithStepanArkadyevitchandSergeyIvanovitch,andlookingstraightatLevinashedrewnear.

           “Delighted!IbelieveI’vehadthepleasureofmeetingyou...atPrincessShtcherbatskaya’s,”hesaid,givingLevinhishand.

           “Yes,Iquiterememberourmeeting,”saidLevin,andblushingcrimson,heturnedawayimmediately,andbegantalkingtohisbrother.

           WithaslightsmileVronskywentontalkingtoSviazhsky,obviouslywithouttheslightestinclinationtoenterintoconversationwithLevin.ButLevin,ashetalkedtohisbrother,wascontinuallylookingroundatVronsky,tryingtothinkofsomethingtosaytohimtoglossoverhisrudeness.
