           “Ah,Countess,”hesaidatlast,“that’saEuropeantalent,shehasnothingtolearn—whatsoftness,tenderness,andstrength....”

           “Ah,howafraidIamforher,howafraidIam!”saidthecountess,notrealizingtowhomshewasspeaking.
