           ThisletterhadnotyetbeenpresentedtotheEmperorwhenBarclay,onedayatdinner,informedBolkónskithatthesovereignwishedtoseehimpersonally,toquestionhimaboutTurkey,andthatPrinceAndrewwastopresenthimselfatBennigsen’squartersatsixthatevening.
