           Placingthebottleonthewindowsillwherehecouldreachiteasily,Dólokhovclimbedcarefullyandslowlythroughthewindowandloweredhislegs.Pressingagainstbothsidesofthewindow,headjustedhimselfonhisseat,loweredhishands,movedalittletotherightandthentotheleft,andtookupthebottle.Anatolebroughttwocandlesandplacedthemonthewindowsill,thoughitwasalreadyquitelight.Dólokhov’sbackinhiswhiteshirt,andhiscurlyhead,werelitupfrombothsides.Everyonecrowdedtothewindow,theEnglishmaninfront.Pierrestoodsmilingbutsilent.Oneman,olderthantheotherspresent,suddenlypushedforwardwithascaredandangrylookandwantedtoseizeholdofDólokhov’sshirt.

           “Isay,thisisfolly!He’llbekilled,”saidthismoresensibleman.
