           “Whatisit?”heasked.

           “Oh,yourexcellency!”saidFranz,withdifficultyrollingtheportmanteauintothevehicle,“wearetomoveonstillfarther.Thescoundrelisagainatourheels!”

           “Eh?What?”askedPrinceAndrew.

           Bilíbincameouttomeethim.Hisusuallycalmfaceshowedexcitement.

           Bolkónskishruggedhisshoulders.
