           Muratwasinformedthatthewayhadbeencleared.TheFrenchenteredthegatesandbeganpitchingtheircampintheSenateSquare.OutofthewindowsoftheSenateHousethesoldiersthrewchairsintotheSquareforfuelandkindledfiresthere.

           OtherdetachmentspassedthroughtheKrémlinandencampedalongtheMoroséyka,theLubyánka,andPokróvkaStreets.OthersquarteredthemselvesalongtheVozdvízhenka,theNikólski,andtheTverskóyStreets.Nomastersofthehousesbeingfoundanywhere,theFrenchwerenotbilletedontheinhabitantsasisusualintownsbutlivedinitasinacamp.
