           Inthediscussionsthatarosebetweenthebrothersontheirviewsofthepeasantry,SergeyIvanovitchalwaysgotthebetterofhisbrother,preciselybecauseSergeyIvanovitchhaddefiniteideasaboutthepeasanthischaracter,hisqualities,andhistastes.
