           Wealllookedateachother,tryingtogleansomethingeachfromtheother.Wewereafraidtothink. 

           Theanswercamequick,"Oh,yes!" 

           "Whatelsedoyouhear?" 

           "Thesoundofmenstampingoverheadastheyrunabout. Thereisthecreakingofachain,andtheloudtinkleasthecheckofthecapstanfallsintotheratchet." 

           "Whatareyoudoing?" 

           "Iamstill,ohsostill.Itislikedeath!" Thevoicefadedawayintoadeepbreathasofonesleeping,andtheopeneyesclosedagain. 

           Bythistimethesunhadrisen,andwewereallinthefulllightofday. Dr.VanHelsingplacedhishandsonMina’sshoulders,andlaidherheaddownsoftlyonherpillow. Shelaylikeasleepingchildforafewmoments,andthen,withalongsigh,awokeandstaredinwondertoseeusallaroundher. 

           "HaveIbeentalkinginmysleep?"wasallshesaid. Sheseemed,however,toknowthesituationwithouttelling,thoughshewaseagertoknowwhatshehadtold. TheProfessorrepeatedtheconversation,andshesaid, "Thenthereisnotamomenttolose. Itmaynotbeyettoolate!" 

           Mr.MorrisandLordGodalmingstartedforthedoorbuttheProfessor’scalmvoicecalledthemback. 

           "Stay,myfriends. Thatship,whereveritwas,wasweighinganchoratthemomentinyoursogreatPortofLondon. Whichofthemisitthatyouseek? Godbethankedthatwehaveonceagainaclue,thoughwhitheritmayleadusweknownot.
