           Ithappenedthatatthatmomenttheladyofthecaravanhadhercup(which,thateverythingabouthermightbeofastoutandcomfortablekind,wasabreakfastcup)toherlips,andthathavinghereyesliftedtotheskyinherenjoymentofthefullflavourofthetea,notunmingledpossiblywithjusttheslightestdashorgleamofsomethingoutofthesuspiciousbottlebutthisismerespeculationandnotdistinctmatterofhistoryithappenedthatbeingthusagreeablyengaged,shedidnotseethetravellerswhentheyfirstcameup.Itwasnotuntilshewasintheactofgettingdownthecup,anddrawingalongbreathaftertheexertionofcausingitscontentstodisappear,thattheladyofthecaravanbeheldanoldmanandayoungchildwalkingslowlyby,andglancingatherproceedingswitheyesofmodestbuthungryadmiration.
