           "Itishalf-pasttennow."

           "Nonotaword!"saidLiddy,lookingattheweepingwomanwithastonishment."Whatisitmakesyoucryso,ma’am;hasanythinghurtyou?"ShecametoBathsheba’ssidewithafacefullofsympathy.

           "No,LiddyIdon’twantyouanymore.IcanhardlysaywhyIhavetakentocryinglately:Ineverusedtocry.Good-night."
