           HecrossedovertowardsBathsheba,whoturnedtogreethimwithacarriageofperfectease.Hespoketoherinlowtones,andsheinstinctivelymodulatedherowntothesamepitch,andhervoiceultimatelyevencaughttheinflectionofhis.
