           SirJohnhadbeenveryurgentwiththemalltospendthenextdayatthepark.Mrs.Dashwood,whodidnotchusetodinewiththemoftenerthantheydinedatthecottage,absolutelyrefusedonherownaccount;herdaughtersmightdoastheypleased.ButtheyhadnocuriositytoseehowMr.andMrs.Palmeratetheirdinner,andnoexpectationofpleasurefromtheminanyotherway.Theyattempted,therefore,likewise,toexcusethemselves;theweatherwasuncertain,andnotlikelytobegood.ButSirJohnwouldnotbesatisfied—thecarriageshouldbesentforthemandtheymustcome.LadyMiddletontoo,thoughshedidnotpresstheirmother,pressedthem.Mrs.JenningsandMrs.Palmerjoinedtheirentreaties,allseemedequallyanxioustoavoidafamilyparty;andtheyoungladieswereobligedtoyield.
