           ‘You’requiteright,Sam,’saidMr.Pickwick;‘butoldmenmaycomeherethroughtheirownheedlessnessandunsuspicion,andyoungmenmaybebroughtherebytheselfishnessofthosetheyserve.Itisbetterforthoseyoungmen,ineverypointofview,thattheyshouldnotremainhere.Doyouunderstandme,Sam?’

           ‘Vyno,Sir,IdoNOT,’repliedMr.Wellerdoggedly.

           ‘Try,Sam,’saidMr.Pickwick.

           ‘Vell,sir,’rejoinedSam,afterashortpause,‘IthinkIseeyourdrift;andifIdoseeyourdrift,it’smy‘pinionthatyou’rea-comin’itagreatdealtoostrong,asthemail-coachmansaidtothesnowstorm,venitovertookhim.’
