           ‘Youjustcomeaway,’saidMr.Weller.‘Battledoreandshuttlecock’sawerygoodgame,vhenyouain’ttheshuttlecockandtwolawyersthebattledores,inwhichcaseitgetstooexcitin’tobepleasant.Comeavay,Sir.Ifyouwanttoeaseyourmindbyblowingupsomebody,comeoutintothecourtandblowupme;butit’sraythertooexpensiveworktobecarriedonhere.’

           Andwithouttheslightestceremony,Mr.Wellerhauledhismasterdownthestairs,anddownthecourt,andhavingsafelydepositedhiminCornhill,fellbehind,preparedtofollowwhithersoeverheshouldlead.

           Mr.Pickwickwalkedonabstractedly,crossedoppositetheMansionHouse,andbenthisstepsupCheapside.Sambegantowonderwheretheyweregoing,whenhismasterturnedround,andsaid

           ‘Sam,IwillgoimmediatelytoMr.Perker’s.’

           ‘That’sjustexactlytheweryplacevereyououghttohavegonelastnight,Sir,’repliedMr.Weller.

           ‘Ithinkitis,Sam,’saidMr.Pickwick.‘IKNOWitis,’saidMr.Weller.

           ‘Well,well,Sam,’repliedMr.
