Asshegrewup,asoundEnglisheducationcorrectedinagreatmeasureherFrenchdefects;andwhensheleftschool,Ifoundinherapleasingandobligingcompanion:docile,good-tempered,andwell-principled. Byhergratefulattentiontomeandmine,shehaslongsincewellrepaidanylittlekindnessIeverhaditinmypowertoofferher.
