           Thedismalindividualtookadirtyrollofpaperfromhispocket,andturningtoMr.Snodgrass,whohadjusttakenouthisnote-book,saidinahollowvoice,perfectlyinkeepingwithhisoutwardman—‘Areyouthepoet?’
