           Mr.Jinglesmiledatthissally,butlookedratherfoolishnotwithstanding;soMr.Pickwickchangedthesubjectbysaying

           ‘Youdon’thappentoknow,doyou,whathasbecomeofanotherfriendofyoursamorehumbleone,whomIsawatRochester?’

           ‘DismalJemmy?’inquiredJingle.

           ‘Yes.’

           Jingleshookhishead.

           ‘Cleverrascalqueerfellow,hoaxinggeniusJob’sbrother.’

           ‘Job’sbrother!’exclaimedMr.Pickwick.‘Well,nowIlookathimclosely,thereISalikeness.’

           ‘Wewerealwaysconsideredlikeeachother,Sir,’saidJob,withacunninglookjustlurkinginthecornersofhiseyes,‘onlyIwasreallyofaseriousnature,andheneverwas.HeemigratedtoAmerica,Sir,inconsequenceofbeingtoomuchsoughtafterhere,tobecomfortable;andhasneverbeenheardofsince.’

           ‘Thataccountsformynothavingreceivedthe"pagefromtheromanceofreallife,"whichhepromisedmeonemorningwhenheappearedtobecontemplatingsuicideonRochesterBridge,Isuppose,’saidMr.Pickwick,smiling.
