           Hesawwhere,forwantofgreateractivityinofferingthegoodsconsignedquickercommunicationwithshippersandbuyers,abetterworkingagreementwithsurroundingcommissionmenthishouse,or,rather,itscustomers,forithadnothing,enduredseverelosses.Amanwouldshipatow-boatoracar-loadoffruitorvegetablesagainstasupposedlyrisingorstablemarket;butiftenothermendidthesamethingatthesametime,orothercommissionmenwerefloodedwithfruitorvegetables,andtherewasnowayofdisposingofthemwithinareasonabletime,thepricehadtofall.Everydaywasbringingitsspecialconsignments.Itinstantlyoccurredtohimthathewouldbeofmuchmoreusetothehouseasanoutsidemandisposingofheavyshipments,buthehesitatedtosayanythingsosoon.Morethanlikely,thingswouldadjustthemselvesshortly.

           TheWatermans,HenryandGeorge,weregreatlypleasedwiththewayhehandledtheiraccounts.Therewasasenseofsecurityinhisverypresence.HesoonbegantocallBrotherGeorge’sattentiontotheconditionofcertainaccounts,makingsuggestionsastotheirpossibleliquidationordiscontinuance,whichpleasedthatindividualgreatly.Hesawawayoflighteninghisownlaborsthroughtheintelligenceofthisyouth;whileatthesametimedevelopingasenseofpleasantcompanionshipwithhim.
