"Yes,"shereplied,alittleflustered—thislastmanifestedinanervousswingingofherschool-bag—"Iliveatnumberone-forty-one."
"Iknowthehouse,"hesaid."I’veseenyougointhere.Yougotothesameschoolmysisterdoes,don’tyou?Aren’tyouPatienceBarlow?"Hehadheardsomeoftheboysspeakhername."Yes.Howdoyouknow?"
