           Itwasnowholiday-timeattheschools,andtheyoungladieshadgonehome,andMissMonflatherswasreportedtobeflourishinginLondon,anddamagingtheheartsofmiddle-agedgentlemen,butnobodysaidanythingaboutMissEdwards,whethershehadgonehome,orwhethershehadanyhometogoto,whethershewasstillattheschool,oranythingabouther.Butoneevening,asNellwasreturningfromalonelywalk,shehappenedtopasstheinnwherethestage-coachesstopped,justasonedroveup,andtherewasthebeautifulgirlshesowellremembered,pressingforwardtoembraceayoungchildwhomtheywerehelpingdownfromtheroof.

           Well,thiswashersister,herlittlesister,muchyoungerthanNell,whomshehadnotseen(sothestorywentafterwards)forfiveyears,andtobringwhomtothatplaceonashortvisit,shehadbeensavingherpoormeansallthattime.Nellfeltasifherheartwouldbreakwhenshesawthemmeet.Theywentalittleapartfromtheknotofpeoplewhohadcongregatedaboutthecoach,andfelluponeachother’sneck,andsobbed,andweptwithjoy.Theirplainandsimpledress,thedistancewhichthechildhadcomealone,theiragitationanddelight,andthetearstheyshed,wouldhavetoldtheirhistorybythemselves.

           Theybecamealittlemorecomposedinashorttime,andwentaway,notsomuchhandinhandasclingingtoeachother.‘Areyousureyou’rehappy,sister?’saidthechildastheypassedwhereNellwasstanding.‘Quitehappynow,’sheanswered.‘Butalways?’saidthechild.
