           ‘Idon’tmindcold.Iamnotdelicate,ifIlookso.’Shequicklymovedoneofthetworoughchairstothebedside,andsatdown.Theotherasquicklymovedapartofsometravellingwrapperfromherself,anddrewitoverher,sothatherarm,inkeepingitabouther,restedonhershoulder.

           ‘Youhavesomuchtheairofakindnurse,’saidthelady,smilingonher,‘thatyouseemasifyouhadcometomefromhome.’

           ‘Iamverygladofit.’

           ‘Andbeforeyouweresofarawayfromit.’

           ‘Ihavebeenmuchfartherawayfromitthanthis;butthenItookthebestpartofitwithme,andmissednothing.IfeltsolitaryasIdroppedasleephere,and,missingitalittle,wanderedbacktoit.’

           Therewasasorrowfullyaffectionateandregretfulsoundinhervoice,whichmadehervisitorrefrainfromlookingatherforthemoment.
