           Thus,nowboasting,nowdespairing,ineitherfitacaptivewiththejail-rotuponhim,andtheimpurityofhisprisonwornintothegrainofhissoul,herevealedhisdegeneratestatetohisaffectionatechild.Nooneelseeverbeheldhiminthedetailsofhishumiliation.LittlereckedtheCollegianswhowerelaughingintheirroomsoverhislateaddressintheLodge,whataseriouspicturetheyhadintheirobscuregalleryoftheMarshalseathatSundaynight.
