           ‘Justso,’saidMrMeagles,withhishandsinhispockets,andwiththeoldbusinessexpressionoffacethathadbelongedtothescalesandscoop.

           ‘MrDoycementionedincidentally,inthecourseofourconversation,thathewasgoingtotakeyourvaluableadviceonthesubjectoffindingsuchapartner.Ifyoushouldthinkourviewsandopportunitiesatalllikelytocoincide,perhapsyouwilllethimknowmyavailableposition.
