           Rushworth’saccount,becausehehadtakentheopportunity,ashewalkedwithherthroughthehall,ofmentioningMissPriceasonewhowouldprobablybeoftheparty,andhaddirectlyreceivedaverysufficientinvitationforhiscousin,Mrs.Norriswastoomuchvexedtosubmitwithaverygoodgrace,andwouldonlysay,“Verywell,verywell,justasyouchuse,settleityourownway,IamsureIdonotcareaboutit.”

           “Itseemsveryodd,”saidMaria,“thatyoushouldbestayingathomeinsteadofFanny.”

           “Iamsuresheoughttobeverymuchobligedtoyou,”addedJulia,hastilyleavingtheroomasshespoke,fromaconsciousnessthatsheoughttooffertostayathomeherself.

           “Fannywillfeelquiteasgratefulastheoccasionrequires,”wasEdmund’sonlyreply,andthesubjectdropt.
