           AveryfewlinesfromEdmundshewedherthepatientandthesickroominajusterandstrongerlightthanallLadyBertram’ssheetsofpapercoulddo.Therewashardlyanyoneinthehousewhomightnothavedescribed,frompersonalobservation,betterthanherself;notonewhowasnotmoreusefulattimestoherson.Shecoulddonothingbutglideinquietlyandlookathim;butwhenabletotalkorbetalkedto,orreadto,Edmundwasthecompanionhepreferred.
