           “Iamgladyougavehimsomethingconsiderable,”saidLadyBertram,withmostunsuspiciouscalmness,“forIgavehimonly£10.”

           “Indeed!”criedMrs.Norris,reddening.“Uponmyword,hemusthavegoneoffwithhispocketswelllined,andatnoexpenseforhisjourneytoLondoneither!”
