           ‘Perhapsaladder,’suggestedDick,‘andgettinginatthefirst-floorwindow

           Dickhadmadethesuggestion,thinkingthatthedutymightpossiblyfallwithinMissSally’sdepartment.Ashesaidnothingfurther,anddeclinedtakingthehint,MrBrasswasfaintoproposethattheyshouldgoupstairstogether,andmakealastefforttoawakenthesleeperbysomelessviolentmeans,which,iftheyfailedonthislasttrial,mustpositivelybesucceededbystrongermeasures.
