           Herownlittleroomtoo,whereshehadsooftenkneltdownandprayedatnightprayedforthetimewhichshehopedwasdawningnowthelittleroomwhereshehadsleptsopeacefully,anddreamedsuchpleasantdreams!Itwashardnottobeabletoglancerounditoncemore,andtobeforcedtoleaveitwithoutonekindlookorgratefultear.Thereweresometriflestherepooruselessthingsthatshewouldhavelikedtotakeaway;butthatwasimpossible.

           Thisbroughttomindherbird,herpoorbird,whohungthereyet.Sheweptbitterlyforthelossofthislittlecreatureuntiltheideaoccurredtohershedidnotknowhow,orwhy,itcameintoherheadthatitmight,bysomemeans,fallintothehandsofKitwhowouldkeepitforhersake,andthink,perhaps,thatshehadleftitbehindinthehopethathemighthaveit,andasanassurancethatshewasgratefultohim.Shewascalmedandcomfortedbythethought,andwenttorestwithalighterheart.
