           “Seethatfellowcominginthere?”saidHurstwood,glancingatagentlemanjustentering,arrayedinahighhatandPrinceAlbertcoat,hisfatcheekspuffedandredaswithgoodeating.

           “No,where?”saidDrouet.

           “There,”saidHurstwood,indicatingthedirectionbyacastofhiseye,“themanwiththesilkhat.”

           “Oh,yes,”saidDrouet,nowaffectingnottosee.“Whoishe?”

           “That’sJulesWallace,thespiritualist.”

           Drouetfollowedhimwithhiseyes,muchinterested.

           “Doesn’tlookmuchlikeamanwhoseesspirits,doeshe?”saidDrouet.

           “Oh,Idon’tknow,”returnedHurstwood.
