           Feelingwell!Mrs.Hurstwoodcouldhaveechoedthewordsafterhimopen-mouthed.Asitwas,sheextricatedherselffromhermingledimpulsetodenyandquestion,andsaid,almostraspingly:

           “Yes,itistoobad.
