           Andafterthat,abrushingasideoftheincidentofthefolder,aswellasClyde’snotrememberingthepriceoftheboatatBigBittern,hisstoppingtoburythetripodandhisbeingsonearRobertaandnotaidingher,aseitherbeingmereaccidentsofchance,ormemory,or,inthecaseofhisfailingtogotoherrescue,ofhisbeingdazed,confused,frightened—"hesitatingfatallybutnotcriminallyattheonetimeinhislifewhenheshouldnothavehesitated"—areallystrongifjesuiticalpleawhichwasnotwithoutitsmeritsanditsweight.
