           Thetelegram,wordedinthespiritjustdescribed,wasforthwithdespatchedcareofBelknapandJephson,whoimmediatelycounseledClydewhattoreplythatallwaswellwithhim;thathehadthebestofadviceandwouldneednofinancialaid.Alsothatuntilhislawyersadvisedit,itwouldbebestifnomemberofthefamilytroubledtoappear,sinceeverythingthatcouldpossiblybedonetoaidhimwasalreadybeingdone.AtthesametimetheywroteMrs.Griffiths,assuringheroftheirinterestinClydeandadvisinghertoletmattersrestastheywereforthepresent.
