           Attheverymomentwhenheburstoutcrying,theoldnursewhohadgrowntobeoneofthefamily,forshehadnotgoneawaywhenMissColemandidnotwantanymorenursing,cametothebackdoor,whichwasofglass,toclosetheshutters.Shethoughtsheheardacry,and,peeringoutwithahandoneachsideofhereyeslikeDiamond’sblinkers,shesawsomethingwhiteonthelawn.Toooldandtoowisetobefrightened,sheopenedthedoor,andwentstraighttowardsthewhitethingtoseewhatitwas.AndwhenDiamondsawhercominghewasnotfrightenedeither,thoughMrs.
