Chapter XIV. Old Diamond

           

           AFTERthisDiamondrecoveredsofast,thatinafewdayshewasquiteabletogohomeassoonashisfatherhadaplaceforthemtogo.Nowhisfatherhavingsavedalittlemoney,andfindingthatnosituationoffereditself,hadbeenthinkingoveranewplan.Astrangeoccurrenceitwaswhichturnedhisthoughtsinthatdirection.HehadafriendintheBloomsburyregion,wholivedbylettingoutcabsandhorsestothecabmen.Thisman,happeningtomeethimonedayashewasreturningfromanunsuccessfulapplication,saidtohim:
