           Asmanyrestlessspirits,whohavehuntedfortune,fame,orpleasurethroughtheworld,retireintheirdeclinetowheretheyfirstdrewbreath,vainlyseekingtobechildrenonceagainbeforetheydie,sowe,lessfortunatethantheyinearlylife,buthappierinitsclosingscenes,willsetupourrestagainamongourboyishhaunts,andgoinghomewithnohoperealised,thathaditsgrowthinmanhoodcarryingbacknothingthatwebroughtaway,butouroldyearningstoeachothersavingnofragmentfromthewreckoflife,butthatwhichfirstendeareditmaybe,indeed,butchildrenasatfirst.Andeven,’headdedinanalteredvoice,‘evenifwhatIdreadtonamehascometopassevenifthatbeso,oristobe(whichHeavenforbidandspareus!)still,dearbrother,wearenotapart,andhavethatcomfortinourgreataffliction.’
