           ‘Nellhere?’hesaidcheerfully,asheclosedhisbook.‘Itdoesmegoodtoseeyouintheairandlight.Ifearedyouwereagaininthechurch,whereyousooftenare.’

           ‘Feared!’repliedthechild,sittingdownbesidehim.‘Isitnotagoodplace?’

           ‘Yes,yes,’saidtheschoolmaster.‘Butyoumustbegaysometimesnay,don’tshakeyourheadandsmilesosadly.’
