           Whenthefestoonswereallputupastastilyastheymightbe,thestupendouscollectionwasuncovered,andthereweredisplayed,onaraisedplatformsometwofeetfromthefloor,runningroundtheroomandpartedfromtherudepublicbyacrimsonropebreasthigh,diverssprightlyeffigiesofcelebratedcharacters,singlyandingroups,cladinglitteringdressesofvariousclimesandtimes,andstandingmoreorlessunsteadilyupontheirlegs,withtheireyesverywideopen,andtheirnostrilsverymuchinflated,andthemusclesoftheirlegsandarmsverystronglydeveloped,andalltheircountenancesexpressinggreatsurprise.Allthegentlemenwereverypigeon-breastedandveryblueaboutthebeards;andalltheladiesweremiraculousfigures;andalltheladiesandallthegentlemenwerelookingintenselynowhere,andstaringwithextraordinaryearnestnessatnothing.
