           Butthattimepassedby,andalthoughshecontinuedtobesadwhenshecamethere,stillshecouldbeartocome,andsowentonuntilitwaspainnolonger,butasolemnpleasure,andadutyshehadlearnedtolike.Andnowthatfive-and-fiftyyearsweregone,shespokeofthedeadmanasifhehadbeenhersonorgrandson,withakindofpityforhisyouth,growingoutofherownoldage,andanexaltingofhisstrengthandmanlybeautyascomparedwithherownweaknessanddecay;andyetshespokeabouthimasherhusbandtoo,andthinkingofherselfinconnexionwithhim,assheusedtobeandnotasshewasnow,talkedoftheirmeetinginanotherworld,asifheweredeadbutyesterday,andshe,separatedfromherformerself,werethinkingofthehappinessofthatcomelygirlwhoseemedtohavediedwithhim.
