           SowehandedthemtoJack,whowasanxioustomakemekeepthem;butastheyfittedhislargelimbsandfeetasiftheyhadbeenmadeforhim,Iwouldnothearofit,soheconsentedatlasttousethem.Imayremark,however,thatJackdidnotusethemoften,astheywereextremelyheavy.

           Butitnowoccurredtous,forthefirsttime,thatwehadnomeansofmakingafire.

           "Now,there’safix!Whatshallwedo?"saidPeterkin,whilewebothturnedoureyestoJack,towhomwealwayslookedinourdifficulties.Jackseemednotalittleperplexed.
