           Themastandsailansweredexcellently;andwenowsailedaboutinthelagoonwithgreatdelight,andexaminedwithmuchinteresttheappearanceofourislandfromadistance.Also,wegazedintothedepthsofthewater,andwatchedforhoursthegambolsofthecuriousandbright-colouredfishamongthecoralsandseaweed.Peterkinalsomadeafishing-line;andJackconstructedanumberofhooks,someofwhichwereverygood,othersremarkablybad.Someofthesehooksweremadeofiron-woodwhichdidprettywell,thewoodbeingextremelyhardandJackmadethemverythickandlarge.Fishtherearenotparticular.Someofthecrookedbonesinfish-headsalsoansweredforthispurposeprettywell.
