           “Yes,you’dbetter,”returnedMinnie.“You’vegottogetupearly,youknow.”

           Themorningwasnobetter.HansonwasjustgoingoutthedoorasCarriecamefromherroom.Minnietriedtotalkwithherduringbreakfast,buttherewasnotmuchofinterestwhichtheycouldmutuallydiscuss.Asonthepreviousmorning,Carriewalkeddowntown,forshebegantorealisenowthatherfour-fiftywouldnotevenallowhercarfareaftershepaidherboard.Thisseemedamiserablearrangement.Butthemorninglightsweptawaythefirstmisgivingsoftheday,asmorninglightiseverwonttodo.
