“Ithinkyousaid,prince,thatyourletterwasfromSalaskin?Salaskinisaveryeminentman,indeed,inhisownworld;heisawonderfullycleversolicitor,andifhereallytellsyouthis,Ithinkyoumaybeprettysurethatheisright.Itsohappens,luckily,thatIknowhishandwriting,forIhavelatelyhadbusinesswithhim.Ifyouwouldallowmetoseeit,Ishouldperhapsbeabletotellyou.”
Theprinceheldoutthelettersilently,butwithashakinghand.
