           Therearfortyfeetofthisverycommonplacefloorwasintricatelyandyetneatlydividedintothreesmallbedrooms,alivingroomwhichoverlookedthebackyardandwoodenfencesofyardsnobetterthanthoseattheback;also,acombinationkitchenanddiningroomexactlytenfeetsquare,andastoreroomformissiontracts,hymnals,boxes,trunksandwhateverelseofnon-immediateuse,butofassumedvalue,whichthefamilyowned.Thisparticularsmallroomlayimmediatelytotherearofthemissionhallitself,andintoitbeforeorafterspeakingoratsuchtimesasaconferenceseemedimportant,bothMr.andMrs.Griffithswerewonttoretirealsoattimestomeditateorpray.

           Andthewholeneighborhoodwassodrearyandrun-downthathehatedthethoughtoflivinginit,letalonebeingpartofaworkthatrequiredconstantappealsforaid,aswellasconstantprayerandthanksgivingtosustainit.
