           Hishandsandfacegrewhotandthenbecamemoistthenhischeeksandforeheadflamed.Hecouldfeelthem.Strange,swift,enticingandyetdisturbingthoughtsracedinandoutofhisconsciousness.Hishairtingledandhesawpicturesbacchanaliansceneswhichswiftly,andyetinvain,hesoughttoputoutofhismind.Theywouldkeepcomingback.Andhewantedthemtocomeback.Yethedidnot.Andthroughitallhewasnowalittleafraid.Pshaw!Hadhenocourageatall?Theseotherfellowswerenotdisturbedbytheprospectsofwhatwasbeforethem.Theywereverygay.Theywerealreadybeginningtolaughandkidoneanotherinregardtocertainfunnythingsthathadhappenedthelasttimetheywereallouttogether.Butwhatwouldhismotherthinkifsheknew?Hismother!Hedarednotthinkofhismotherorhisfathereitheratthistime,andputthembothresolutelyoutofhismind.
