           Whatanimmensedebtheowedtothisnobleladyandherfriends!FromLordGlenarvan,downtothelowestsailoronboard,howallhadstruggledandsufferedforhim!HarryGrantexpressedhisgratitudewithsuchsimplicityandnobleness,hismanlyfacesuffusedwithpureandsweetemotion,thatthewholecrewfeltamplyrecompensedforthetrialstheyhadundergone.EventheimpassableMajorhimselffeltatearstealdownhischeekinspiteofallhisself-command;whilethegood,simplePaganelcriedlikeachildwhodoesnotcarewhoseeshistears.
