           ‘Ishouldlikeit,foritislonelyhere;butIamafraidyouwillfeelthecoldtoomuch.’

           ‘Idon’tmindcold.Iamnotdelicate,ifIlookso.’Shequicklymovedoneofthetworoughchairstothebedside,andsatdown.Theotherasquicklymovedapartofsometravellingwrapperfromherself,anddrewitoverher,sothatherarm,inkeepingitabouther,restedonhershoulder.

           Therewasasorrowfullyaffectionateandregretfulsoundinhervoice,whichmadehervisitorrefrainfromlookingatherforthemoment.
