           ‘Hewasverysorry,Icantellyou,’sheannounced,‘andwantedtosendadoctor.Andhe’scomingagainto-morrowheisandIdon’tthinkhe’llhaveagoodsleepto-nightalongo’hearingaboutyourhead,LittleMother.Ohmy!Ain’tyoubeena-crying!’

           ‘IthinkIhave,alittle,Maggy.’

           ‘Alittle!Oh!’

           ‘Butit’sallovernow—alloverforgood,Maggy.Andmyheadismuchbetterandcooler,andIamquitecomfortable.IamverygladIdidnotgodown.’

           Hergreatstaringchildtenderlyembracedher;andhavingsmoothedherhair,andbathedherforeheadandeyeswithcoldwater(officesinwhichherawkwardhandsbecameskilful),huggedheragain,exultedinherbrighterlooks,andstationedherinherchairbythewindow.
