           HavingarrivedinLycurgusabouttwenty-fiveyearsbeforewithsomecapitalandadeterminationtoinvestinanewcollarenterprisewhichhadbeenproposedtohim,hehadsucceededthereafterbeyondhiswildestexpectations.Andnaturallyhewasvainaboutit.Hisfamilyatthistimetwenty-fiveyearslaterunquestionablyoccupiedoneofthebest,aswellasthemosttastefullyconstructedresidencesinLycurgus.Theywerealsoesteemedasamongthefewbestfamiliesofthisregionbeing,ifnottheoldest,atleastamongthemostconservative,respectableandsuccessfulinLycurgus.
