           Indeed,forthemostpartthesedays,andinspiteofthepeculiarclimaxwhichhadeventuatedinconnectionwithEsta,helivedinakeen,sweetandsensualdreaminregardtoher.Ifonlyshewouldreallycometocareforhim.Atnight,inhisbedathome,hewouldlieandthinkofherherfacetheexpressionsofhermouthandeyes,thelinesofherfigure,themotionsofherbodyinwalkingordancingandshewouldflickerbeforehimasuponascreen.Inhisdreams,hefoundherdeliciouslynearhim,pressingagainsthimherdelightfulbodyallhisandtheninthemomentofcrisis,whenseeminglyshewasabouttoyieldherselftohimcompletely,hewouldawaketofindhervanishedanillusiononly.
